Open to the Public - A Look at 2019 Events, Pre-Covid-19 Restrictions

We run several events throughout the year that are open to the public. We invite all community members to come and take advantage of our plant sales , tour, and ceremony.

Fall Plant Sales

Typically our sales are held at Thornhill Community Centre in the north west corner of the parking lot. Everyone is welcome to come purchase plants for their garden. Check back for future events for 2022.

Annual Garden Tour

-date -under review

Our summer highlight is a self-guided tour of beautiful Thornhill gardens. Tickets can be purchased for this event when we can resume these events.

Annual Summer Flower Show

Come to the Shops on Steeles & 404 to enjoy a free display of flowers, plants, arrangements, and veggies and fruits grown by our members. Meet some of our members and share in the enjoyment of gardening!

Poppy Ceremony

-November 10

Pay your respects to the men and women who have served and continue to serve to ensure our freedom.

Youth Bursary

There are opportunities to apply for a bursary. These are awarded to Thornhill students enrolled in full time post-secondary studies related to Horticulture and/or Environmental Sciences.

Community Service Volunteer Hours

We have many opportunities for high school students to volunteer as they gain their required community service hours:

  • Plant Sales Events: set up, selling, clean up

  • Community Improvement-gardening at our selected  sites

You'll be surprised how quickly you can accumulate your 40 hours and learn some new skills too!
