Members Only Events

We've got a great year planned for you!  Mark you calendar for these Events, Speakers, Workshops, and Celebrations. Meetings start at 7:00 p.m. with a half-hour of social time, followed at 7:30 p.m.with our Speaker presentation. Remember to bring some Toonies for refreshments, and some change for our prize draws! (1 ticket for $2.00 or 3 tickets for $5.00). We have fabulous prizes to be won  monthly!

Also, remember to "lug a mug" for your beverage - every gesture helps to reduce waste!

We're working on the planning to  offer 1 flower arranging workshop this year.  It could be in the fall, depending on Covid-19 situations. Participant fees and location details to come.

Volunteer Opportunities

Dates will be announced regarding the planting and maintaining of several community beautification sites. Watch for your monthly newsletter.

Spring and Fall Plant Sales - May 9 and September 12

These important fundraisers need members to make them happen! Sign up to help organize, and run our two annual plant sales that take place in the parking lot at Thornhill Community Centre.

Annual Garden Tour - July 12

Purchase your tickets to participate in this tour of 10 beautiful Thornhill gardens. This event is open to the public so consider bringing your family and friends!

Annual Summer Flower Show - August 15 - Cancelled

This year we had 4 flower shows, 3 at our meetings , and one at our Annual Summer Flower Show at the Shops on Steeles & 404 planned. Due to Covid-19 these have been cancelled. All members are welcome to enter these events when they can run! 

Membership Tea-Cancelled

Following our Garden Tour, join your fellow members for a membership tea in a relaxing Thornhill garden on Colborne Street. This is an exclusive members event! 

Thornhill Terry Fox Run - September 20

Join our team to participate in this annual event that raises funds and awareness for Cancer cures, treatments and support.

Poppy Ceremony - November 10 11:00 a.m.

The ceremony takes place on the southwest corner of Bayview Ave. and John St. Take a moment to remember those who have fought for our freedom.

Awards' Night Dinner- November 18

Our potluck dinner and awards evening will take place at the Heintzman House,. It's always a highlight of our year together.

TGHS Lending Library

As a member, you may borrow from a selection of useful horticultural books from our library. Request them and pick them up at the monthly meetings.
